We intend to provide an oasis for birds, consisting of a 2km diameter, 300ha environment of abundant vegetation and plentiful water in the middle of the desert. The water paths stretching into the desert will function as do runways to aircraft and lead birds to the oasis. At the center of the oasis will be a 700m diameter birdhouse within which birds will be free to fly at will, and which will provide a respite from the rigors of the journey. The natural environment of hills, trees, valleys, waters edge, and gravel beds etc will provide the necessary environment for bird existence.
Our birdhouse theme presents a coexistence between man's activities and the natural environment on planet earth of the 21st century. Our birdhouse presents the birds in the prime role, with concern for the surrounding natural environment. Our intention is to direct a production in which vegetation will be present both within, and surrounding, the birdhouse.
